On behalf of one of our clients, we were requested to devise & deliver a training event for 2600 people over 25 days. No problem; except we had 10 days to organise it. We needed to organise 120 laptops with a single configuration, 120 headsets, webcams, network cables, associated hubs and switches and a server to drive it all. In addition, we needed to cater for delegates with impaired vision, so large format monitors would be required.

We looked at all options open to us, primarily whether to rent or buy. We decided that to buy the kit, while possible within the budget, would mean that laptop computers would be left idle on shelves depreciating & unused; so we settled on rental.
